Jeff Marr

Director, Physiotherapist

Jeff graduated from Otago in 1987. In addition, he has a Post-graduate Diploma Manipulative Physiotherapy 1998 and a Post-graduate Certificate in Health Science (Akld) in Sports Medicine 2000.

Jeff has extensive sports physiotherapy experience having worked in Rugby Union over the past 30 years. He had a long tenure as the Physiotherapist to NZRFU teams 1991-2000 working with NZ under 19, Schools, under 21, NZ Divisional XV, NZ XV & NZ A. Jeff also was a founding figure in the NZRFU Academy from 1998-2002. Working with these teams has seen Jeff work all over the world in high performance rugby environments.

Locally, Jeff worked as Head Physiotherapist for the Counties Manukau Steelers 1995-2001 including helping the team to 2 successive Grand Finals and as Head Physiotherapist for the Blues Super 12 Rugby team 2002-2004. This included helping the team to Championship Trophy as winners in 2003.

Following on in rugby, Jeff has successfully turned to Rugby Coaching. Coaching the Bombay Rugby Club Premier team from 2013 to 2019, Jeff coached them to 5 Mac Namara Cup Championship victories, 4 of those victories as Head Coach. In addition, Jeff has coached Counties 2ndXV.

His special interests in Physiotherapy are Spinal injuries, Shoulder injuries and Sports Medicine.

In 1998, Jeff invented the JAYMAR Shoulder Brace which is the premium anti-dislocation brace used in contact sports in NZ and sold to the world.
